Shippensburg, PA, to Portland, Maine
Erik and I hit the road about 7 in the morning, heading up 81 bound for Portland. We stopped for some quick breakfast food and continued racking the miles up. After a stop or two for changing drivers and restroom breaks, we ended up at a little restaurant called Denmo's in a town just off the interstate.
After some sandwiches (and figuring out that Connecticut chili isn't quite the same as chili from the South) we headed on.
We finally pulled into the hotel in Portland about 5:00, and were immediately greeted by the parking lot full of bikes, trailers, and vans for the event.
After saying hello to everyone, walking around the parking lot, and some dinner in the hotel lobby, we headed back to the room, in preparation for the next day's excitement.
I also learned today from my "Maine friend" that chop suey in Maine is macaroni, hamburger, and tomato sauce....hmmmm
