First Day on the Road!

Tullahoma, TN to Shippensburg, PA

Tuesday, September 4

   At 6AM, Erik and I loaded up what was left to stuff in the van and headed north. 
   
   A few hours time found us in East Tennessee, about to cross the state line into Virginia. We stopped at a rest station to catch a picture with the sign, as well as swapped off on driving duty for a while. I caught a few Z's while Erik drove, and we switched a couple more times between rest and fuel stops.

   We covered about 660 miles in 12 hours on the road, and tomorrow's drive from Shippensburg (with a few alterations to the Google Maps route to avoid New York) to Portland should be about 100 miles shorter, providing for no unexpected detours.
