Glacier National Park & Going-to-the-Sun Road

     Billings, MT, to Kalispell, MT

Today started off with a cool morning (38 degrees!) and some rain at the hotel in Billings. The organizers had changed the departure times for the riders from 7:30 to 8:30 for the earliest class, so we were able to sleep in a little bit later than we expected. The support crews had an option to leave before the bikes and go the "sightseeing route" through Glacier. Immediately upon entering the park, I was grateful I had gotten out of bed early enough to drive through.

We were greeted by some awe-inspiring scenery, and the roughly 25-mile long, winding "Going-to-the-Sun" road. There were plenty of turnouts for some fantastic photo opportunities. Unfortunately, the Cannonball is nearing its end with only 3 more stages of riding. However, I doubt today was the last of the great views here in the American Northwest.

All continues to go well with the bike and the riding, and Erik and I both hope that trend continues for the last few stages.
